Entrance Notes

(1) The main entrance to Blocks A and B of the Buchanan Building is from the east side of Main Mall, just north of Memorial Road. This entrance includes a ramp and is level and accessible with a power door. The entrance leads into the second floor of Block A near the elevator. There are also three level and accessible entrances to the first floor of Block A on the west side of the courtyard between Blocks A, B and C (Buchanan Quadrangle). The entrance at the south end of the Quadrangle has a power door and leads into the first floor of Block A near the A&B Blocks elevator. Buchanan Block A is connected to Buchanan Block B by a level link on floors one and two,and by the elevator to floor three of Buchanan B.

(2) The main entrance to Buchanan Block C is located on the south side of the building on Memorial Road. This entrance is level and accessible and includes a power door. This entrance leads into the stairwell of Block B and the lower floor of Block C. A second accessible entrance to Block C is on the east side of the Buchanan Quadrangle across from Block A. This entrance leads to the lower floor and to the C Block elevator. There is also an internal entrance with power door near the elevator that connects the first floors of Blocks C and D.

(3) The main entrance to Block D of the Buchanan Building is on the south side of Block D facing Memorial Road, in the courtyard between Blocks C, D, and E. This entrance is level and accessible and has a power door. This entrance leads into the lower floor of Block D, including the Meekison Arts Students Space. A second entrance to Block D is located on the east side of the Buchanan Quadrangle. This entrance is accessible and has a manual door. This accessibility of this entrance is difficult and some users may prefer to use an alternate entrance. This entrance also leads to an internal entrance with power door that connects to the main floor of Block C near the elevator. The third entrance to Block D is located on the west side of Block D near the intersection of Crescent Road and East Mall. This entrance is level and accessible and has a manual door. This entrance leads into the lower floor of Block D, as well as to an internal entrance with power door that connects to the main floor and elevator of Block E.

(4) The main entrance to Block E is located at the south end of Block E across from Buchanan Tower, near the intersection of East Mall and Walter Gage Road. This entrance is level and accessible and has a power door. This entrance leads into the lower floor of Block E. There is also an internal entrance with power door at the north end of Block E that connects the first floors of Blocks D and E.

To reach the Buchanan Quadrangle from Memorial Road, take the pedestrian underpass under Buchanan Block B.
