Entrance Notes

(1) The main entrance to the George Cunningham Building is located on the west side of the building on East Mall near the Wesbrook Building. This entrance is inaccessible due to stairs and has a manual door.

(2) The second entrance is located at the east end of the building off of Health Sciences Mall. This entrance is level and accessible and has a manual door.

(3) The third entrance is located at the east end of the building off Health Sciences Mall. This entrance is inaccessible due to stairs.

THE HEALTH SCIENCES PARKADE IS LOCATED AT 2250 HEALTH SCIENCES MALL. THE ENTRANCE TO THE PARKADE IS ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE STRUCTURE, JUST WEST OF HEALTH SCIENCES MALL NEXT TO PATIENT PARK AND THE BACK OF THE UBC HOSPITAL COMPLEX.

Year Erected: 1960

The George Cunningham Building was completed in 1961 and an addition was built in 1971 to house a research area. It was named for George Cunningham, the former chairman of UBC's board of governors and the founder of a large chain of pharmacies in British Columbia.
